Chunky Chocolate, Fruit and Nut Slice Recipe
This deliciously rich no-bake slice is quick and easy to make.
Makes about 28 pieces (each about 4cm by 3.5cm).
We use a 20ml tablespoon and 250ml measuring cup for all of our recipes.
70g butter
125ml (1/2 cup) sweetened condensed milk
250g packet Scotch Finger (shortbread style) biscuits
80g (1/2 cup) finely chopped dried apricots
80g (1/2 cup) chopped white chocolate
86g (1/2 cup) sultanas or raisins
42g (1/2 cup) desiccated coconut
70g (1/2 cup) chopped macadamia nuts
Topping
200g milk chocolate, melted
Line an 18cm by 28cm pan with non-stick baking paper.
Place butter and condensed milk in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove saucepan from heat when butter has melted.
Finely crush half of the biscuits in a food processor or blender. Chop the remaining biscuits into small chunks. © exclusivelyfood.com.au
Place biscuits (crushed and chopped), dried apricots, white chocolate, sultanas or raisins, coconut and macadamia nuts in a large bowl.
Stir ingredients in bowl until well combined. Add butter and condensed milk mixture to the bowl.
Stir until well combined.
Firmly press mixture into prepared pan.
Spread slice with melted milk chocolate.
Refrigerate slice until firm. Cut into pieces to serve. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. © www.exclusivelyfood.com.au
This is just the best slice recipe I've come across in a long time! Totally delicious!!!!
ReplyDeleteStumbled across this site via Googling for a fruit-and-nut slice recipe.
ReplyDeleteI've made a double batch of this twice now, and both times they've gone down magnificently with everyone! And it's SO easy!
Amazing website with easy everyday ingredients. Thanks!
used this reciped but made it into balls and dipped in chocolate, big hit at christmas parties. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if glazed cherries would work in this slice?
ReplyDeleteHi I posted the question regarding glazed cherries and went ahead and used them in recipe they worked really well. Also did anyone else find half a tin of condense milk wasnt enough I ended up using a full tin to make the ingredients mix together is that ok?
ReplyDeleteDid you use Scotch Finger biscuits, or another type of biscuit? Did you crush half the biscuits and chop the remaining half?
ReplyDeleteWarning: Scotch finger biscuits come in two sizes. 250g and 375g. Who Knew???? I couldn't work out why mine was a bit dry and crumbly. Now I know. I knew it couldn't be the recipe. Still disappeared in a flash though.
ReplyDeleteHow would this go in a lunchbox? Ie, not refrigerated for a few hours. Thanks!
